This Week’s Program

“We Answered the Call” is an anthology of first person stories from Vietnam veterans from southeast Michigan. The book was published in 2018 in tribute to one of their own, Medal of Honor recipient LTC Charles S. Kettles, and in memory and honor of the 97 Washtenaw County veterans killed in Vietnam.

Dale Throneberry has rounded up three of the veterans who shared their story in this book.

Guests will include:

Bill Feight (“Tiger, Tiger”) Army Radio Operator 1963-1965

Martha (Marty) Flowers Cothorn (“Army Nurse”) Army Nurse 1966-1971

Colonel (Ret.) Christine Cook (“Of Those Left at Home” and editor) Daughter of Vietnam Veteran

War must be, while we defend our lives against a destroyer who would devour all. But I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend.
