Michigan Vet Fest 2022
Dr. Eric Fretz, program host, and Josh Parish J.D. talk about VCAT9 and the early days when VCAT9 coordinated the first two Vet Fests, how the event evolved, and how these events support veterans.
Michigan has around 600,000 veterans within their borders and that places them at 11th highest within the United States. Less than 18% of those veterans are connected to a VA benefit. Vet Fest is a 4 hour FUN event for veterans and their families that includes free food, fun games, entertainment and plenty of giveaways PLUS information about their regional services – from the Veteran Administration and the community’s businesses and organizations that want to reach our veterans.
Eric and Josh saw major improvements in the attendance with this type of event over the small group event format offered by the state’s VA office.
