MEDAL OF HONOR READING FOR M/SGT GARY GORDON
Gary Gordon graduated from Mattanawcook Academy in 1978 and then joined the U.S. Army at age 18. He initially trained as an Army Combat Engineer before transferring to the U.S. Army Special Forces. Both he and fellow “Delta” Operator Randall Shughart, a close friend as well as team member, were Killed in Action during the Somalia mission that became known as the “Blackhawk Down” mission. Both Shughart and Gordon were awarded Posthumous Medals of Honor, the only Medal of Honor Awards in the interim between the Vietnam War and the Global War on Terrorism.
M/Sgt. Gary I. Gordon, United States Army, distinguished himself by action above and beyond the call of duty on 3 October 1993, while serving as a Sniper Team Leader, United States Army Special Operations Command with Task Force Ranger in Mogadishu, Somalai.
M/Sgt. Gordon’s sniper team provided precision fires from the lead helicopter during an assault, and at two helicopter crash sites, while subjected to intense automatic weapons and rocket propelled grenade fires.

SUBJECT: PERSONALITY DISORDER MENTAL DIAGNOSTIC IMPROVEMENT ACT BILL
Greetings, my name is Captain Curtis Anthony Hervey (ret) and I am a 100% P&T disabled combat Veteran of both OIF and OEF. Last month, as pro se litigant, I successfully negotiated a favorable misattribution of military trauma (MMT) malpractice settlement with the United States.
I was a call-in on the February 28, 2021 show with guests Brig. Gen. Carol Ann Fausone (ret), Legal Help for Veterans and Michael G. Smith, Jr., Director of Washtenaw County (MI) Dept. of Veteran Affairs.
I am embarking on a legislative campaign to get my new bill for the PERSONALITY DISORDER MENTAL DIAGNOSTIC IMPROVEMENT ACT successfully introduced before the House Veterans Affairs Committee (HVAC) and eventually signed into law.
The bill seeks to reduce the probability of misattribution of military trauma such as TBI, MST, PTSD, MDD, PDD, etc. by officially mandating the General Personality Disorder diagnostic criteria found in the DSM-5 as a prerequisite for diagnosing military personnel with personality disorders.
MMT to personality disorder leads to stigmatization and invalidation which I call the “Scarlet Letter P”.
MMT leads to unjust “bad paper” discharges for personality or adjustment disorders leads to dishonor.
Our Veterans cannot live without honor.
Please support our cause as we embark on this crusade to reduce Veteran suicide. Contact your state representatives and tell them to support this bill.
We need more voices. There are many others who, like us, wear the Scarlet Letter P.
For more information you can contact myself @ [email protected] or Derek Fronabarger, Director, Government Affairs, O: 202.644.9143, M: 904.254.1039, [email protected].
Strength and honor.
