They have visited over 15,000 ill and injured Veterans at their bedsides in 71 VA Hospitals,  Military hospitals & State Veterans Homes in 32 states across the US. To date, they have donated over $90,000 worth of state-of-the-art rehab equipment for VA & Military hospitals nationwide. Colin P. Cahoon – Army. Colin received his Regular Army commission in 1983 and graduated with honors from the aero scout track of flight school at Fort Rucker, Alabama in 1984. He served with distinction as an Aero Scout Platoon Leader in the 307th Attack Helicopter Battalion of the 7th Infantry Division, where he accumulated over 1000 hours of flight time in UH-1 and OH-58 helicopters. Captain Cahoon resigned his commission in 1988 to pursue a legal career, whereupon he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army’s second highest peacetime award for service. www.colinpcahoon.com.

Shelly Rood – Army. In her Army Reserve career spanning over 16 years, Shelly attained the rank of Captain while serving as an S2, a Division Operations Officer, a Company Commander and more. From leading covert intelligence briefings overseas to orchestrating security programs for nearly 4,000 Soldiers, Shelly knows first hand what it means to protect and care for others. Her military awards include the Shield of Sparta and the St. Joan D’Arc. Dwight Zimmerman is a regular guest on Veterans Radio. As the former president of MWSA he presents 3 recently published books written by veterans and a spouse of a veteran.

Beyond Belief: True Stories of Military Chaplains is an anthology of true stories of military chaplains whose actions were “beyond belief”. Dwight co-authored this book with Vietnam veteran Doug Sterner and his wife Pamla Sterner. Doug Sterner is a decorated former Army Combat Engineer who served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He is a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and in 2012 was enrolled as an Honorary Life Member of the Legion of Valor. 

The Flying Cutterbucks, Kathleen M. Rodgers’s fourth novel, is a 2021 WILLA Literary Award Finalist in Contemporary Fiction and won a  2021 Gold Medal in Fiction-Realistic from Readers’ Favorite Book Awards and a Gold Medal in Literary Fiction from MWSA. Kathleen is the wife of an Air Force fighter pilot. The story is set against the backdrop of the 2016-2020 presidential elections and deals with strong women and a USAF fighter pilot MIA in Vietnam. On War, Fishing and Philosophy, was written by Joe Campolo, Jr. who is a United States Air Force Vietnam War veteran. Dwight and Dale gave this book 5 stars for it style and content. He is married, with two children and also has two grandchildren. Joe is a feature writer for the Military Writer’s Society of America (MWSA) and is also a public speaker.
